Downtown fire closes two streets

The fire broke out around 2 p,m, and smoke is visible coming from the roof at the rear of the building

An afternoon fire at the Hunt Club at 175 First Avenue has closed that street plus Worthington Ave. to traffic.

The fire broke out around 3 p,m, and smoke is visible coming from the roof at the rear of the building.

No injuries have been reported.

The fire department is fighting the fire from both sides of the building using a ladder truck.

Reporter Chris Dawson says the fire has spread into the ceiling and firefighters are pulling away the roof to get at it.

Thick brown smoke is drifting toward Main St.

The building is home to a hair salon, squash courts, and yoga.
