Deadline drawing near for cannabis store review

A permit will be issued to open the store unless the Commission finds it is not in the public interest to do so

North Bay residents have until Monday, Dec. 16 to file submissions with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission concerning the new Tokyo Smoke cannabis store in the West Ferris area of the city.

If approved it intends to set up shop in the Nipissing Plaza at 390 Lakeshore Drive early in the new year.

A permit will be issued to open the store unless the Commission finds it is not in the public interest to do so.

  • Protecting public health and safety
  • Protecting youth and restricting their access to cannabis
  • Preventing illicit activities in relation to cannabis

You must be a resident of North Bay and you can submit online here. Don't bother sending one anonymously...it won't be considered.

The North Bay Tokyo Smoke store is Toronto divorce lawyer Lorne Fine.

He says he will need at least 2-4 managers and 10-15 staff. However, no renovations to the store have yet taken place,

Tokyo Smoke already operates four stores in Ontario, six in Manitoba and one in Alberta.
