Cops arrest woman in connection with CIBC bank robbery

'He should be considered dangerous. Anyone with information should not approach him and are asked to call their local policing agency or Crime Stoppers'

Police have made an arrest in connection with that CIBC bank robbery earlier this month.

On March 21st shortly before 10:40 a.m., a man and woman walked into the CIBC Bank at 195 Main Street West and gave the teller a note demanding money.

The pair left the main front door and got into a red GMC Sierra which was parked near the bank. The truck had been reported stolen from the City of Sudbury earlier that morning.

The two were last seen driving erratically along Fisher St before travelling south on Highway 11 leaving North Bay.

Police are not releasing the amount of money stolen.

North Bay Police released photographs of the two from security footage that were obtained from the scene and credit law enforcement partners and the public for identifying the crooks.

Yesterday evening, 32 year old Ludmila Lishchenko was arrested by the OPP in Caledon during an unrelated investigation.

She now faces charges of:

  • Robbery,
  • Possession of Stolen Property and
  • Breach of Probation.

Lishchenko is being held for a bail hearing in North Bay in relation to these charges.

Meanwhile police today issued an arrest warrant for 33 year old Andrew Lamore on charges of Robbery, Possession of Stolen Property and Breach of Probation.

Lamore has a lengthy and violent criminal history including prior convictions for robbery, theft of motor vehicles, dangerous driving, flight from police and firearms offences.

"His whereabouts are currently unknown but he has connections to eastern Canada," says John Schultz, Special Constable. "He should be considered dangerous. Anyone with information should not approach him and are asked to call their local policing agency or Crime Stoppers."

Both have ties to the Toronto area and Lamore has been out to New Brunswick.

The red coloured GMC Sierra pickup truck has not yet been recovered.

Police believe that Lishchenko and Lamore may have been involved in similar occurrences elsewhere in the province involving the theft of gas or motor vehicles as they made their way to southern Ontario from the Sudbury area.

Anyone with information that may help police with this investigation is asked to contact Detective Warner at the North Bay Police Service at 705-497-5555.
