The OPP South Porcupine detachment in Matheson is missing a police cruiser.
"As a result of an immediate and ongoing investigation, the OPP has been able to confirm that this fully marked 2011 Ford Crown Victoria, black and white coloured cruiser, with Ontario licence plate BKYA 833 has been stolen," the O.P.P. stated in a release Sunday morning.
The cruiser is equipped with a full roof lighting system and the fleet number 4-428 is clearly marked on the white driver's and passenger's front doors beneath the letters O.P.P.
Police say the car thief is not known and the investigation is continuing.
The O.P.P. is asking If anyone knows the whereabouts of this police vehicle, please call 911 immediately or should you wish to remain anonymous, please call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
Around 8:30 a.m. the OPP stated they have found the vehicle and the car thief.
