A pair of National Communities in Bloom judges will be visiting North Bay to tour the city.
Clean, Green, Beautiful (CGB) and the City of North Bay are welcoming judges Colleen Stockford and Christine Isaac, from July 28 to 30.
The judges will be touring the community to evaluate its achievements across six key categories: community appearance, environmental action, heritage conservation, tree management, landscape, and plants and floral displays.
CGB officials believe the evaluation provides an excellent opportunity for North Bay to showcase the hard work and dedication of its residents, businesses, and institutions.
Everyone is encouraged to participate by displaying orange flowers, this year’s chosen colour, to brighten up the community and demonstrate our collective spirit.
"The community has been incredible and we are excited to welcome the judges to our city," said Hariett Madigan, CGB Chair.
"We are asking everyone to do their part to make North Bay clean, green, and beautiful."
The committee requests anyone with sandwich boards, marquees, digital advertising signs, or window space to post a "Welcome Communities in Bloom Judges" message between July 28 and 30.
"While this is a competition, our main focus is on enhancing our community and fostering unity," said Sarah McGowan, CGB committee member. fff"Regardless of our score, we are immensely proud to see the fostering of community pride and improving the quality of life for all residents."
The City accepted an invitation to enter the National Communities in Bloom to compete with other communities across Canada in 2024.
In 2023 the City of North Bay was awarded five blooms at the provincial level, scoring an impressive 830 out of 1000 points.
