City work crews sprang quickly into action yesterday to fix a potential traffic hazard on Sunset Blvd. which leads to Sunset Park in the Ferris section of the city.
The area is a popular beach destination in summer and crowded with vehicles hauling snowmobiles in winter.
Herb Osborne wrote to BayToday pointing out that motorists were ignoring a one-way sign, resulting in numerous near-miss accidents. There is also a proliferation of signs vying for a motorist's attention. He wanted more clarity.
"Today a 4-wheeler was entering the wrong way while a Ram Truck was exiting the right way. An accident was four inches away from occurring."

He says Parks staff advised him to write to council as the signage is not posted properly.
But yesterday, just hours after the story appeared, the City put up three new signs. Two have a no-enter symbol with "Do Not Enter" wording and a third directs traffic to enter on the right.
Osborne is pleased by the quick action, thanking both BayToday and Councillor Sara Inch.
"Thanks to the actions of a journalist and Sara, as a dedicated councillor for North Bay taxpayers, this change serves notice to those who abuse the direction of road safety."
