Weather advisory issued for:
North Bay - Powassan - Mattawa,

Current details:
Winter weather travel advisory in effect.

Hazards:
Flurries, at times heavy. Local snowfall accumulations of 5 to 10 cm by midnight.
Very poor visibility at times in heavy snow.

Timing:
This evening.

Discussion:
Lake effect snow off Lake Nipissing is affecting Highway 17 from North Bay to Mattawa. Brief but intense flurries could affect road conditions and result in reduced visibility.

Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common.

If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.
