Members of the public interested in finding out about career opportunities with the Ontario Provincial Police are invited to attend an information session in North Bay Jan. 8.
A recruiter will provide details involving how to apply, pre-requisites, expectations of an applicant and an overview to assist with preparing for each stage of the process.
The Ontario Provincial Police is one of North America's largest deployed police services with more than 5,700 uniformed officers, 2,600 civilian employees, and 700 Auxiliary officers.
The OPP is a division of the Ministry of the Solicitor General, the largest operational ministry in the province with a presence in every community across Ontario. It is the largest police service in Ontario and the second largest in Canada.
Officers are responsible for policing over one million square kilometres of land and waterways and provide expert front-line, investigative and administrative police service.
The session takes place Wednesday January 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the OPP North East Regional Headquarters, 911 Gormanville Road.
