Despite the rainy conditions the North Bay Food Bank’s Blue Box Food Drive was considered a success today.
The Food Bank reports they gathered more than 4800 pounds of food during the event which asked North Bayites to leave non-perishable food items at the curb of their home inside a blue box.
The North Bay Food Bank teamed up with the Miller Group to collect food donations from the North Bay area.
Organizers say the day was a success because of volunteers and the truck drivers who participated in picking up the donations.
The North Bay Food Bank is available to accept food and monetary donations year round. The food bank is located at 1016 Fisher Street in North Bay and is open to serve clients Mondays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., and Wednesdays from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. For more information, call the North Bay Food Bank at 705-495-3290.
