Please help keep an eye out for a lost dog from the Mattawa area.
Finley is a male, treeing walker coonhound/shepherd mix and has been missing since 5 p.m. Friday January 12.
He is two years old, 85lbs, neutered and microchipped. He was last seen leaving his owner's yard to follow a scent into the bush. Finley was wearing an orange Ruffwear harness (no tags) and attached to a 10m biothane (thin plastic material) long line. He has patchy fur above his nose due to a previous allergic reaction.
Given that Finley is a hound dog, he could travel long distances. His owner, Shannon Page, is trying to spread the word as far as possible in case he shows up far from the Mattawa area.
"Finley is a well-cared for and loved, sweet, affectionate guy," says Page. "He has never been lost before and is likely to be very scared and cautious of people and dogs."
Page, along with neighbours and others have been busy searching the local area for him in case he got stuck in the bush and didn’t chew through the long line.
Finley’s lost poster and information have been posted on several Facebook sites, around the Town of Mattawa, and at neighbouring township offices.
All local vet clinics, animal control staff, the Humane Society and Mattawa OPP have been notified.
"If someone has a drone that could assist my number is below," she says.
Please help his owner keep spreading the word within and outside of the local area. If Finley is spotted, please contact his owner at 705-303-3595.
