As promised, the Future Shop at the Northgate Shopping Centre re-opened on Saturday, April 4th.
A total of 65 stores across the country re-opend on the weekend most of them still with the look of Future Shop. The only main difference is the employees are now wearing the traditional blue and yellow Best Buy uniforms.
Officials with Best Buy along with local employees have both stated the transition to the full Best Buy look will take several months.
Best Buy Co. announced March 28 that it was shutting all 131 Future Shop stores across Canada, and re-opening 65 under the Best Buy name within a week.
That’s in addition to the 136 stores that already operated under the Best Buy name.
Reports indicate customers who had warranties, gifts cards, or equipment in for repairs at the Future Shops that closed will find they are being honoured at the remaining stores.
