Banner art will beautify the Lakeshore Drive overpass

Banners will be hung along the Fred Lefebvre overpass.

The Public Art Advisory Committee (PAAC) and the City have announced the successful artists for the Fred Lefebvre Lakeshore Drive overpass banner project.

There were 71 submissions from the local artistic community, and 14 were selected. No examples of the banners were released as plans are to unveil the artwork when it's being installed. A date for that has not been finalized.

The banners will be displayed along the overpass leading into the West Ferris and downtown areas.

"We were extremely impressed with the calibre of submissions," said Carissa MacIntosh, PAAC Chair. "Each artist brings a unique perspective and style, which will add to the vibrancy and appeal of the community."

The project is part of an ongoing effort to increase public art within the City and to recognize local talent.

Banners will be installed in the coming weeks with announcements to unveil the artwork and highlight the artists which include:
