Attempted murder charge laid in Lakeshore stabbing

Victim discharged from hospital after suffering multiple stab wounds

The North Bay Police Service has arrested and charged a 24-year-old man in a stabbing on June 27, 2024.

The accused in this incident is Jeremy Arthur Morin, male, age 24, of North Bay, who is charged with:

  • One count of attempt to commit murder
  • One count of assault with a weapon
  • One count of fail to comply with probation order
  • One count of aggravated assault
  • One count of possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

On June 27, 2024, at approximately 6:30 p.m., members of the North Bay Police Service responded to an incident in the 1200 block of Lakeshore Drive. The victim was located outside a residence, suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was being assisted by individuals who had gathered to help. EMS transported the victim to the hospital. Police reported the victim was then airlifted to Health Sciences North in Sudbury due to his injuries. He has since been discharged.

Investigators advised the public that the two individuals involved in the incident were known to each other and there was no risk to the general public.

On June 28, 2024, members of the North Bay Police Service located and arrested the accused. The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
