An arrest has been made in that case where human remains were found Sunday north of Parry Sound.
On January 15, shortly before 8 p.m., West Parry Sound OPP officers were called to a snowmobile trail off Nobel Road in McDougall Township.

Upon arrival at the scene, the officers located what they believed to be human remains. The Office of the Chief Coroner was notified and arrived at the scene.
The human remains were transported to the Office of the Chief Coroner - Ontario Forensic Pathology Service in Toronto where yesterday, a forensic post mortem examination was started and still continues.
On January 17, 2017, an arrest was made and the investigation remains ongoing. Police have not released the name of the suspect.
The West Parry Sound OPP Crime Unit, supported by the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit , OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators, and the OPP Emergency Response Team under the direction of Detective Inspector Mark Zulinski of the Criminal Investigation Branch are continuing the death investigation in conjunction with the Peel Regional Police.
