Alison Herst has delivered an early Christmas present to her father Paul and mother Linda: their new grandchild Zoe.
Herst arrived in North Bay Wednesday following a 52-day ordeal in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where she had gone to complete Zoe's adoption and obtain the passport she needed to bring the 13-month-old youngster to Canada.
Everything ended happily today when Alison, Zoe and Paul pulled up to the Herst's McNaughton Avenue home around 1:45 p.m.
"We made it, Zoe, we made it," Herst said as she was hugged by pal Tracy Johnston.
And then it was inside the house for the homecoming of a lifetime.
