A Race against drugs

The North Bay Police Service has joined with several community partners including the RCMP, North Bay Fire Department, North Bay and District Ambulance Service, North Bay Focus, OPP and other like-minded community groups for the 3-day Race Against Drugs at Memorial Gardens.

The event features area grade 5 students navigate their war around a number pit stops where the community partners discuss and demonstrate the effects of drugs and alcohol play and the different safety concepts they can use to protect themselves.

Once the kids complete the course they have the opportunity to race on the miniature racetrack supplied by the RCMP.

The event concludes Thursday.
