A total of 6000 square feet of the North Bay Waterfront will be the location for the new Ribfest event coming July 14 to 17.
"After two years of absence through COVID-19 this is a time for North Bay to come out and support our community," said Peter Chirico, President of the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce.
"This would be a great stay-cation, support the food bank support The Boat, and support the entire community."
Proceeds from the event will go towards the North Bay Food Bank and non-perishable food items will be collected throughout the four days.
As part of Ribfest North Bay 2022, Three major rib companies, including Jack the Ribber and Route 55 BBQ will be set up at the waterfront and there will be multiple vendors at the family event North Bay's Ribfest will open for VIP sponsors only on the first day of the event.
Louise Lowe, an event committee member, admits the event has a little bit of the Summer in the Park feel to it.
"We wanted to encompass the entire community since it is the first one in over three years now and we wanted to make sure everyone felt welcome at the Ribfest and it wasn't just about ribs, it was about bringing the community together for the first time in a long time enjoying each other."
The Boat will also be hosting live music in the evening during Ribfest which traditionally was set up on the north end of the city near the Voyageur Inn.
"Come down in the evening, enjoy the music, have some ribs, and bring your family," she said.
Organizers will be selling wristbands for Ribfest North Bay 2022 soon. It will cost $20 for a weekend pass and $10 at the gate.
"The ribbers will be in the far parking lot facing the water, so they will be all fenced off along with other vendors too with the entrance at the Rotary shelter," explained Lowe.
"There will be a kid's zone as well overlooking the grass area."
