North Bay police have arrested 53 as part of an enhanced enforcement initiative targeting outstanding arrest warrants.
Throughout June police conducted an enhanced enforcement campaign, targeting outstanding arrest warrants for a variety of criminal offences. The enforcement initiative resulted in a combined total of 127 charges.
The majority related to failures to comply with release orders, undertakings, or probation and failures to appear in court. Additional charges included arson, assault, break & enter, possession of a controlled substance, and theft of a motor vehicle, among others.
“Thanks to the diligent work of our offices, these individuals who were evading arrest are now being held accountable for their criminal conduct,” said Inspector of Operations, Jeff Warner. “Our efforts to locate offenders does not stop with this targeted enforcement initiative. Our officers will continue to track down those who attempt to avoid the consequences of their criminal acts."
