West Parry Sound OPP have arrested and charged three people, including a 16-year-old, with weapons and drug-related offences after a traffic stop on Highway 69 in Archipelago Township yesterday.
Officers stopped the vehicle for a sobriety check and saw cannabis readily available. A search of the vehicle yielded a firearm, a high-capacity magazine, and cocaine and Fentanyl with an estimated street value of over $22,000.
A 16-year-old from Scarborough was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking -opioid
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Obstruct a peace officer
- An occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- An occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited device or ammunition
- Transport firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition in a careless manner
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition at an unauthorized place
- Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
- Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose
- A passenger failing to wear a seatbelt properly
The accused was held for bail and remanded into custody.
Jada George, 22, from Milton was arrested and charged with:
- An occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited or restricted weapon
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid
- Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- An occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
- Transport firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition in a careless manner
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition at an unauthorized place
- Possession of Schedule I substance - opioid
- Possession of a firearm prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
- Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
Dallas White, 27, from Vaughan was arrested and charged with:
- An occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited or restricted weapon
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
- Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Opioid
- Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- An occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
- Transport firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition in a careless manner
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition at an unauthorized place
- Possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo
The accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on March 21.
