A sobriety check by West Parry Sound OPP officers paid a big dividend yesterday on Highway 69 in Carling Township.
Four people were arrested and charged with weapons and drug-related offences.
It was shortly after 11 p.m. officers stopped the vehicle for a sobriety check and saw cannabis readily available. A search of the vehicle found a firearm, high-capacity magazine, over $1,300 cash and suspected cocaine and Fentanyl with an estimated street value of approximately $100,000.
Masoud Fayez,18, from Oshawa is charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking -Opioid
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5.000
- Obstruct Peace Officer
- The occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Carry a firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition in a careless manner
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted weapon
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- Possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
- Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose
- Three counts of breach of recognizance
Keanu Johnson,19, from Uxbridge is charged with:

- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine
- The occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
- Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose
- Drive a vehicle with cannabis readily available
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
Adelin Munda, 20, from Whitby is charged with:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking -Opioid
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine
- The occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of Weapon
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- Possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
- Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose
- Personation with intent (Identity Fraud)
- Three counts of failure to comply with release order
Michael Adewole, 19, from Ajax is charged with:

- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine
- The occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm

- Possession of a firearm, prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
- Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose
All four were held for bail before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound today.
