COUNTERFEITER ARRESTED On the 25th of Aug. during the afternoon hours constables Bill Gainforth and Dave Wilson of the North Bay Police Service received a call to attend a local movie theatre on Lakeshore Drive.

On the 25th of Aug. during the afternoon hours constables Bill Gainforth and Dave Wilson of the North Bay Police Service received a call to attend a local movie theatre on Lakeshore Drive.

The staff was holding one male who had passed counterfeit currency.

The man in question was arrested and found to be in possession of 28 counterfeit ten-dollar bills. A search of his home produced a further $1,100 in counterfeit bills. A scanner was also seized. The investigation continues.

George TERRY 18 years old of Bell Street, is charged with Possession of Counterfeit Currency, Utter Counterfeit Currency and Making Counterfeit Currency. He is to appear in court Oct. 19.

POSSSIBLE ATTEMPT ABDUCTION
On Aug. 25 shortly after 1 a.m. a young woman was walking home on Ski Club Road near Widdifield Secondary School when she was approached by a dark coloured van. The van drove closer and the side sliding door was opened and a male reached out as if to grab her. This male then said to someone within the van that it was too difficult or something similar. The female victim walked the rest of the way home and called police.

This van is described as possibly maroon or burgundy in colour and had a square front and did not appear older that 10 years. The passenger is described as male, in his teens, slim build and wore his hair to the bottom of his ears.
