Police lay nail salon sexual assault charge; seek other victims

Police say during a cosmetic procedure 'the accused bit and kissed the victim’s body in an uninvited, unwanted manner.'

The North Bay Police Service arrested a 68-year-old man for sexual assault in connection to an alleged incident at a nail salon in North Bay. 

In January 2025, the victim in this incident attended Elegant Pro-Nails on McKeown Avenue, North Bay, as a customer.

Police say during a cosmetic procedure "the accused bit and kissed the victim’s body in an uninvited, unwanted manner."

The victim left the location and reported the incident to police.

The accused in this incident is Van Hoang Le, male, age 68, of North Bay, who is charged with:

  • One count of sexual assault

The accused was arrested on January 14, 2025, and was released on an undertaking. He is scheduled to appear before the court on February 18, 2025

The allegation has not been tested in court, and the accused is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

The North Bay Police Service has reason to believe that the accused may have victimized others in similar incidents over the past several years.
