Temiskaming OPP have arrested a man after a complaint of a driver sleeping behind the wheel at an intersection.

On December 31 at 3:15 p.m., police received a complaint from another motorist about a driver sleeping behind the wheel at an intersection, on Development Road in Harley Township.

Shortly after, the OPP located and stopped the vehicle on Highway 11 in Temiskaming Shores. The driver was arrested for impaired and taken to the Temiskaming Detachment for further testing.

Cole McLean, 21, from New Liskeard, is charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Operation while impaired -blood alcohol concentration (80 Plus)

McLean received a 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

He is scheduled to appear before the Haileybury Ontario Court of Justice on January 28.
