Crack cocaine seized in South River bust

A South River man faces a number of drug trafficking charges after an OPP raid yesterday in that communicty.

Over the noon hour, the OPP Community Street Crime Unit executed a drug warrant on an Isabella Street residence.  

Police seized:

  • 38 grams of crack cocaine
  • 18 grams of cocaine
  • 8 grams methamphetamine
  • Percocet's
  • $1,170 

Police arrested and charged Jason Simpell, 40, with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid 
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine
  • Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Simpell was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday, December 8 in Sundridge.
