Four more local players win provincial silvers with U18 Sudbury team

The West Ferris 63s U14A ringette team displayed remarkable determination and skill at the Ringette Ontario Provincial A Championships this past weekend in Sault Ste. Marie, earning a well-deserved silver medal in their division.

After a challenging start with two losses on the first day of competition, the 63s bounced back with a win and a tie on Friday, followed by an exhilarating victory on Saturday to complete the round robin phase. Finishing third overall, the 63s advanced to the semi-finals, where they faced the second-place Metcalfe Hornets — a team they had previously lost to. In a stunning display of perseverance, the 63s secured a 5-1 victory, earning their spot in the final.

The championship game saw the 63s take on the undefeated Forest team. Despite a valiant effort, including a power play goal, Forest ultimately secured a 5-1 victory. However, the West Ferris 63s proudly claimed the silver medal after an outstanding tournament performance filled with sportsmanship, perseverance, and dedication.

The team finished second overall in the province after a tight round robin and a nail-biting semi-final. The Greater Sudbury 18+A team is composed of players from Sudbury, North Bay, Sault Ste.
