The Powassan Voodoos won their 23rd straight with a convincing 12-3 win over the visiting Iroquois Falls Eskis on Monday night.

The win was also the 30th of the season for the #2 ranked CJHL team in the nation.

Kyle Challis and Tyler Gervais-Rolfe led the offensive barrage with 3 goals each as the Voodoos opened up a 3-0 first period lead and built a 6-1 cushion after 40 minutes. The Voodoos then blasted home another half dozen goals in the final frame.

Brett Hahkala registered two goals and one assist while Tyson Gilmour netted one goal and three assists in the one sided victory.

Gary Mantz, Andy Baker, and Ryan Theriault rounded out the scoring in the Monday night blowout.

Andrew Suriano made 22 stops for his first win in goal for the Voodoos.

Artem Bortovskiy and Trevor Hawkes both saw time in goal for the Eskis as they faced a combined 63 shots in defeat.

Ryan Gruszka, Alex Mitsionis and David Stickney provided the scoring for the Eskis.

It was a fitting way for the Voodoos to end a memorable 2016 as they now head into the Christmas break with a record of 30-3-1.
