The Powassan Voodoos would like to welcome new North America Scout Billy Griffiths to the Powassan Voodoos.
Griffiths joins the Voodoos as he continues his long hockey relationship with Peter Goulet, the new Voodoos head coach and VP of Hockey Operations.
“Billy has been scouting with me since January 2010,” recalls Goulet.
“He was a big reason for the success in the Nepean Raiders championship in 2011-2012 helping recruit and identify players.”
Griffiths has been with Goulet in Nepean, Kingston, Brampton, Trenton, and now Powassan as well.
“Over the past 12 years working with Billy he has brought countless number of players to camps and to the teams I’ve coached who have gone on to become great junior hockey players and as well as great collegiate and professional hockey players.
“I’m excited to continue working with Griffiths, we’ve been good friends and great colleagues for a long time helping build many great teams. Billy is a tireless worker who will go above and beyond for the organization, staff and players.”
The Ottawa product will travel in Ontario, across Canada and even into the United States, as he seeks out future Voodoos talent.
Griffiths is excited to join the Voodoos to start a new chapter in his hockey scouting career.
“I am very excited and grateful to owner Jim Bruce, and general manager Chris Dawson for this opportunity to work with such a great organization like Powassan and to keep working alongside Peter,” said Griffiths.
Griffiths and the Voodoos are are preparing for main training camp which will begin in late August at the Powassan Sportsplex.
