Jesse Lefebvre had a pair of two goal contests to lead the North Bay U18 AAA Trappers to a pair of wins over the Sudbury U16 AAA Nickel Capitals in Great North U18 action over the weekend.
On Saturday, Lefebvre had 2 goals and added 3 assists while linemate Caleb Dawson had 3 goals and 2 assists as the Trappers beat the U16 Nickel Capitals 7-3. Justin Rousseau and Ethan Boyes had the other goals in the convincing win. Mike McIvor got the win in goal in the game which took place at the Powassan Sportsplex.
Anthony Bertrand, Cole Dubowsky and Corey Lacroix scored for the U16 Nickel Capitals.
On Sunday, Lefebvre had 2 goals while Dawson added a pair of assists in a 5-2 win at Countryside arena in Sudbury. Nate Gravelle contributed a hard working short handed tally in the second period while Josh Currie contributed a nice opening goal in the first period. Davis Anello rounded out the scoring with a banked empty net goal to seal the win. Mike Purkhart was solid in goal for the Trappers in the win as they improve to 17-6 in Great North U18 League play.
Max Campbell and Cale Prpic had the goals for the U16 Nickel Caps.
U16 Trappers can't beat Cubs
On Sunday the North Bay U16 Trappers were dumped 4-1 at the hands of the New Liskeard Cubs in Powassan.
Hudson Prisco-Duquette had the lone goal for the Trappers as the U16 Trappers fall to 3-17-2-1 on the season.
Julien Trudel and Logan Rivard had one goal and one assist each in the Cubs win while Vinnie Popkie got the win in goal.
