The North Bay U18 AAA Trappers built up a 2-0 lead but could not hold on as the Oshawa U18 AAA Generals edged the Trappers 4-3 in the final round robin game of the 2023 Central Regional U18 AAA tournament in Windsor.
Justin Rousseau, Jesse Lefebvre and Anthony Boyes tallied for the Trappers. While Lefebvre netted a shorthanded goal in the first, the Gens were able to capitalize on three power plays to pull ahead.
Battalion prospect Mike McIvor was excellent in goal for the U18 Trappers while hard working centre Justin Rousseau, playing his final minor hockey game, was named the Trappers game star.
The U18 Trappers finished the tourney 0-5.
The Trappers won the Great North U18 championship two weeks ago.
