U18 AAA Trappers end 2024 on a winning note

The North Bay & District U18 AAA Trappers continued their winning ways grabbing a pair of victories in Sault Ste. Marie to finish up the 2024 portion of their season which has them sitting comfortably in first place in the Great North U18 Hockey League. 

The U18 Trappers broke open a tight game with four third period goals as they dumped the Soo U18 AAA Greyhounds 5-2 on Saturday at the John Rhodes Community Centre in Sault Ste. Marie. 

Owen Head, Tyler Brunet, Ezekiel Proctor, Ben Brunton and Martin Brassard scored for the Trappers while goaltender Logan Coates had a solid performance in the win.  

Dylan Rousselle and Caleb Walker replied for the U18 Greyhounds. 

On Sunday, the Trappers had their hands full with the feisty U16 AAA Greyhounds. Ben Brunton scored the lone goal in the shootout while Trappers goalie Carson Ruddy denied three Hounds shooters as the visitors pulled out a 5-4 win.  

Liam Starcevic, Owen Head, Preston Seguin-Hutchison and Colton Loiselle scored in regulation as the Trappers battled back from a 3-1 second period deficit. 

Wyatt Jarratt, Myka Venneri, Russell McNally, and Makks Demidovich replied for the U16 Hounds. 

The two road wins improve the Trappers impressive record to 18-2 on the season as they continue on a nine-game winning streak. 

The Trappers are back in action on Saturday, January 4 when they travel north to face the third place Timmins Majors.
