It was a huge weekend for the U15 Trappers, as they hosted Timmins for a triple header season opener. Game one found the Trappers down by two, before Cam Lockhart put them on the board from longtime linemate, Ben Brunton. This same Trappers line buried another to tie the game, with Logan Meunier putting it past the Timmins net-minder with a pass from Brunton. Trappers goaltender Logan Coates picked up the tie.
Brunton opened the scoring in game two, with an unassisted goal. Down by two, Ashton Millette brought the Trappers closer after a pass from defenceman Caleb Moyer. As the third was winding down, Michael Dech scored his first of the regular season with 14 seconds left in the game. Colton Loiselle and Brunton were credited with the helpers. Goaltender Brennan Bertoncello walked away with the tie.
The Trappers jumped ahead in game 3, with a goal from Cam Lockhart. Ben Brunton was credited with the assist, landing a pass on the tape from the corner. Brunton then gave the Trappers a 2-0 lead after tipping in a shot from Caleb Moyer. Timmins bit back with four goals before Mathias Moar scored, unassisted, in the third. Charlie Hayne scored his first of the season, tying the game with minutes left, Maddox Gedanitz with the assist.
The Trappers finished the weekend undefeated, with 3 solid ties.
