U12 AAA Trappers win silver at Ottawa Myers Automotive AAA Shootout

The U12 AAA Trappers came home with silver medals from a high-profile AAA tournament in Ottawa this weekend. 

The North Bay U12AAA Descon Construction Trappers opened the tournament with a 3-2 victory over the Eastern Ontario Wild. Mac Degagne, Tanner Walsh, and Liam DeJourdan scored for the Trappers. Next, the Trappers suffered a 6-1 loss to the host Myers Automotive. Mac Degagne was the lone goal scorer for the Trappers. The Trappers then went on to defeat the Ottawa Jr. 67s 5-2. Goal scorers for the Trappers were Sam Carré, Jordan Adekoya, Jacob Krajci, Tanner Walsh, and Liam DeJourdan. In the last round-robin game, the Trappers were defeated 4-3 by the Ottawa Valley Titans.

Goal scorers for the Trappers were Tanner Walsh, Jackson Ross, and Mac Degagne. Despite the loss, the Trappers finished 4th (out of 8 teams) earning them a semi-finals rematch versus the first-place Myers Automotive.

The Trappers defeated Myers Automotive 3-2 in the semi finals. Goal scorers for the Trappers were Jackson Ross (x2) and Liam DeJourdan. The victory set up a finals match versus the Mississauga Senators who are ranked 10th among all U12AAA teams in Ontario. In a back-and-forth thriller, the Trappers fell to the Senators 4-3 in overtime. Goal scorers for the Trappers were Jackson Ross, Liam DeJourdan, and Jacob Krajci.
