Curious about Ringette but haven’t had the chance to try it? Here’s the perfect opportunity to explore the sport invented right here in North Bay over 60 years ago. The West Ferris Ringette Association is hosting the “Come Try Ringette for Free” event on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Pete Palangio Arena (603 Wallace Rd, North Bay).

Ringette was created in North Bay in 1963 by Sam Jacks and has since grown to engage over 32,000 players worldwide. Combining elements of basketball and lacrosse with the ice hockey setting, Ringette offers a distinctive and exciting experience all its own. West Ferris Ringette Association invites you to experience this dynamic sport firsthand. This event is open to anyone interested in discovering what makes Ringette unique and trying it out for themselves.

Participants of all skill levels are welcome to join in on introductory drills and fun mini games, guided by our experienced coaches and players. This free event offers a fantastic way to explore Ringette and connect with the sport’s rich local heritage. Participants only need to bring their CSA-approved helmets, skates and gloves. Sticks will be provided.

To register, visit the registration page at https://westferrisringette.ca/ctrff/. Pre-registration helps to provide the best experience for all attendees. For more information about the event, please reach out to Shawnah at house.director@westferrisringette.ca.

For new players looking to register for the season, West Ferris Ringette also offers an equipment rental program!
