St. Joseph-Scollard Hall witnessed an electrifying weekend of basketball action during the 2nd annual Green & Gold Classic presented by Century 21. Held on December 8th and 9th, the basketball tournament showcased the talents of 20 teams, drawing participants and fans from various towns, including Sudbury, Temiskaming Shores, Sault Ste Marie, Timmins, Kapuskasing, and Huntsville.
The Junior final proved to be a nail-biter as West Ferris triumphed over the home team, St. Joseph-Scollard Hall, with a score of 56-47. Rowan Waye of the Trojans emerged as the Finals MVP, wowing the crowd with an impressive 24-point performance.
In the Senior Final, Thériault secured the victory against Kapuskasing with a final score of 50-43. Jonah Villars from the Flammes claimed the Finals MVP title, contributing 13 crucial points to his team's success.
The tournament's success was not only marked by thrilling on-court action but also by the overwhelming support from sponsors.
