The U18 Team Winters curling team came out on top in the Coldwell Banker Bonspiel held over the weekend at the North Bay Granite Club.
The curling event which started last Friday, had 40 teams, coming from Deep River, Cochrane, Timmins, Sudbury, and the surrounding area.
The Winters team went 6-0, ending up in the finals on Sunday and played against Team Bowman.
With some great sweeping and amazing shots by the team, they secured the 7-2 win in the 'A' Division final.
Team Winters heads to Summerside, PEI this weekend to play in the U20 Nationals from March 23 to 30, and they are expected to be one of the youngest teams participating at age 16.
The team will head off to PEI on Saturday, flying from Ottawa.
Team Winters' first game is Sunday, March 23 at 4 p.m. against Manitoba 2, at the Credit Union Place in Summerside.
There are eight games in the round robin, before the playoffs start on Saturday, March 29.
