Patriotes win at North York Classic

The Franco-Cité Patriotes claimed the division title at the North York Classic Senior Boys hockey tournament in Toronto on November 27th and 28th. During round robin play, the Patriotes won two games while losing one and earning a tie.


The Franco-Cité Patriotes claimed the division title at the North York Classic Senior Boys hockey tournament in Toronto on November 27th and 28th. During round robin play, the Patriotes won two games while losing one and earning a tie.

In their first game the Patriotes beat Pickering College (Newmarket) 7-3. In their second game the Patriotes suffered a loss at the hands of Silverthorn Collegiate Institute (Etobicoke) by a score 4-1. On Tuesday morning, the Patriotes earned a 1-1 tie with Mary Ward Catholic Secondary School (Toronto). In their last round robin game, the Patriotes were victorious in a must win game beating Mentor College (Mississauga) 5-2. With this win, the Patriotes advanced to the final game facing off against Park Street Collegiate Institute (Orillia).

In the end, the Patriotes earned a hard fought 5-0 win. The Patriotes now get ready to face the West Ferris Trojans on Wednesday afternoon in Verner, before playing in the East-West game on Thursday.
