The North Bay Ski Racing Club (NBSRC) had one of their best ever showings at the Mealey Classic in Sault Ste Marie this weekend.
With more than 140 racers from Thunder Bay to Collingwood, the competition was steep and many of the local athletes turned in top five performances.
Head Coach Jenna De Genova coached 14 NBSRC athletes (U12, U14 and U16) in Super G, Giant Slalom and Slalom races.
“As a coach, I couldn't be more proud of what our athletes have accomplished so far this season and it's exciting to see the potential in each of them,” says De Genova.
“It's incredible to see how much they've grown, not only in their skiing but also in their mental toughness and team spirit. We're building something special here.”
Top performances included:
WOMEN
- Lauren Moore (U16) came home with a 3rd and 4th in Super G and a 5th in Giant Slalom.
- Finley Prisco (U14) brought back a 4th in Super G, 5th in Giant Slalom and 4th in Slalom.
- Audrey Chute and Emma Chute both raced in the U12 division with Audrey placing 4th in Super G and Emma placing 5th in Giant Slalom.
