The North Bay Baseball Association (NBBA) is thrilled to announce two exciting new indoor programs, providing athletes with unique opportunities to stay active, develop their skills, and have fun during the winter months. The programs, which will take place at the state-of-the-art Canadore Panthers Sportsplex Dome,
include the Wiffle Ball League and Indoor Skills Sessions, designed for baseball and softball players of all ages and skill levels.
Wiffle Ball League: A Fun Twist on the Classic Game
The NBBA is introducing its inaugural Co-Ed Wiffle Ball League, bringing the beloved backyard game into the dome for an exciting, fast-paced league experience. Wiffle Ball, a sport played with a lightweight plastic ball that features holes allowing for unique and unpredictable pitches, is perfect for players of all skill levels.
Whether you're throwing a curveball or watching the ball dance through the air, Wiffle Ball provides endless fun and competition.
The league will run for 8 weeks, with games held every Sunday from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Players will be divided into three divisions for individuals born between 2007 - 2019.
The league is open to both baseball and softball players, offering a unique way to engage with the sport during the off-season. For just $150 per player, participants will receive a league t-shirt and 8 weeks of action-packed games.
“Wiffle Ball is a great way to get kids active in the winter and have a blast while learning to pitch, hit, and field in a completely new way,” said Paul McLean, NBBA Commissioner.
Indoor Skills Sessions: Year-Round Development for All Ages
In addition to the Wiffle Ball League, the NBBA is also offering Indoor Skills Sessions, focused on helping athletes of all ages refine their baseball and softball skills in a controlled, indoor environment. This 9-week program will run on Tuesdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., for players born between 2007 - 2019.
Each session will focus on various skills, including hitting, pitching mechanics, fielding, base running, and more. The 2-hour sessions will be coached by experienced instructors, providing individual feedback and personalized guidance to help athletes elevate their game.
“We’re excited to offer a comprehensive skills program for players of all levels,” said McLean. “These sessions are a great way to keep improving over the winter months, with experienced coaches helping each player work on the areas that matter most for their development.”
Interested participants will have the option to partake in the Full Package, which includes a total of 18 sessions for $500; or the option of Tuesday’s Only or Thursday’s Only which includes 9 total sessions for $300. Depending on registration numbers, options to register for individual sessions may become available.
