NDA Hockey Notebook: Big win for Raiders

League action resumes this week with games Monday and Wednesday.

NDA hockey action this past week saw the Chippewa Raiders defeat the St Joseph Scollard Hall Bears 10-1 and the Algonquin Barons were victorious over the West Ferris Trojans by a 3-1 score.

Chippewa's Gavin Shaw had a big night for the Raiders racking up 7 points with 3 goals and 4 assists.

Linemate Bryce McIntyre also hit the score sheet with two goals and two assists.  Other Raider goal scorers were Aydan Poudrier,  Will Petrie, Kobe Rosoph, Tanner Campbell and Jake Girard.

The second game of the evening was a closely contested affair between the Barons and Trojans.

The game remained scoreless until the second when the Baron's Nick Raymond and the Trojan's Cam Walters exchanged goals early in in the period.  Darcy Korswagen scored which proved to be the game winner on the Algonquin power play late in the second and Raymond scored the insurance marker on another Baron power play at the 14.22 mark of the third.

League action resumes this week with games Monday and Wednesday.  

Monday's game has the Bears and Barons tangle at Memorial Gardens in a rare 2:30 p.m. start, while Wednesday's doubleheader goes at West Ferris arena with the Widdifield Wildcats taking on the Bears at 6 p.m., and the West Ferris Trojans host the Chippewa Raiders at 7:30 p.m.
