Lakers fall in playoffs

The Nipissing Lakers Men's soccer team fell 4-1 in the opening round of the OUA soccer playoffs to the same University of Toronto squad that eliminated them last fall.

The Lakers fell behind early 1-0 at halftime and the U of T added insurance in the 59th minute. However, the Lakers fought back with a goal of their own three minutes later as Matt Prikken got the Lakers on the scoreboard but that was all the scoring the Lakers would do at Birchmount Stadium on Wednesday afternoon in Toronto.

Last year the Lakers lost to U of T 2-1 in the OUA semi-final after the local school defeated Guelph 2-1 in overtime in their playoff opener last season.
