Over the past weekend four North Bay & District Girls Hockey teams travelled to Orangeville to take part in the 44th annual Sweetheart Tournament.

The U9B team got to take part in their first full ice tournament of the season, where they won 3 of 4 round robin games on route the championship game! In the Championship the U9B team fought hard losing to Kincardine in a shootout to bring a silver medal back to North Bay! The U9B team also won all 4 categories in the skills competition!

The U13DS (development steam) team - a new program for the Junior Lakers, had a great time playing together for the first time. A highlight for this group was earning a 2-0 win over Clarington in their final game.

The U15B team had a rough start on Friday losing 3-2 to Kincardine. After that game, they rebounded to finish second in pool play where they ran into a tough Orangeville team in the semi-finals, unfortunately dropping the game 3-1.

There was still hope for the U15B team to earn a medal as they would take on Georgina for bronze. The Junior Lakers took a 3-0 victory over the Golden Hawks to bring a bronze medal back to North Bay.
