Battalion defenceman Cam Dineen has signed an NHL entry level contract.

Arizona Coyotes General Manager John Chayka announced today that the Coyotes have signed the Battalion offensive defenceman.

As per Club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

This season, the 18-year-old Dineen played in 29 games with the North Bay Battalion (OHL) and registered 6-8-14 with eight penalty minutes (PIM).

Dineen missed the entire second half of the season due to a knee injury when he went knee on knee with Oshawa Generals forward Robbie Burt back in mid December.

If the Battalion made the playoffs, he would have likely returned to the lineup.

The native of Toms River, New Jersey collected 13-46-59 and 18 PIM in 68 games last season with North Bay, which were the second-most points by an OHL defensemen.

The 5-foot-11, 184-pound Dineen was named to the OHL's first all-rookie team and finished tied for second in voting for OHL rookie of the year in 2015-16.

Dineen was drafted by the Coyotes in the third round (68th overall) in the 2016 NHL Entry Draf
