For the first time in about 20 years, the North Bay Police and the North Bay Fire Department faced off for the Battle of the Badges game at Boart Longyear Memorial Gardens last Friday.
The two rival teams played for the Chat4Chad Cup, a large champion's cup donated by The Engraving Shoppe in North Bay.
The Fire Fighters came out on top over the North Bay Police winning the game 10-3.
However, the real winner was the North Bay Food Bank, which was the beneficiary of the charity hockey game.
"Great turn out for Battle of the Badges," said Deb Marson, executive director at the North Bay Food Bank.
"Thank you to the players, Chuck A Puck participants & fans for donating $1,954 and over 2,000 lbs of non-perishables in support of the North Bay Food Bank!"
Organizers are hoping for a bigger and even better event in 2026.
However, the North Bay Police will be looking for a better result.
