He may not have started his first NHL game yet, but Ken Appleby has been literally perfect coming in as relief.

Appleby came in relief of Cory Schneider Tuesday night as the Devils took on the Boston Bruins in Boston.  Appleby came in the third period and stopped all 4 shots he faced in a 3-2 win for the Bruins over the Devils.

Appleby, who was playing with the Binghamton Devils in the AHL, got his first chance to play on Saturday, January 20th with the New Jersey Devils when Keith Kincaid left with an injury after allowing 3 goals in the opening period.

In that game he made 24 saves in a Devils 3-1 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, which was his first ever NHL action.
