The Algonquin Barons swim team brought home 5 Gold medals at the NOSSA swim championships which were held at the Howard Armstrong Recreation Centre Wednesday December 16, 2015. I
ndividually Zeyana Laplante led the way with a couple of golds in the Senior fly and backstroke events while Josee Aubin and Forest Hermans picked up gold in the Senior Free and Jr Breast stroke events.
Evan Kilroy and Meghan Zhoo turned in solid silver and bronze medal performances respectively and Marianne Racette battled hard in the 50 free and back events.
The Senior womens 200 IM relay team of Olivia Gagnon, Savanah Thibeault, Aubin and Laplante brought home gold in a time of 2:31.64 and will also head to Windsor in March 2016 for the OFSAA swim competition where qualified athletes are permitted to swim a maximum of two individual events and one relay.
