August 16, 1944- October 31, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved and courageous mother Rosemary, who passed away on October 31st, 2024 in her 81st year at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice surrounded by the love of her family.

She was predeceased by her loving partner Rick Charbonneau and mother Dorothy Lavigne. Cherished mother to Stacy and Reg (Jennifer) Wickman. Devoted grandmother to Caleb, Bailey and Drake Wickman. Loved by her siblings, Marc (Birgit) and Marcia. And by Beverly (Carl-predeceased), Ginny, Heather (Bernie) all predeceased.

Also missed by Rick’s siblings, Bernadette (Alfred), Vivian (John-predeceased), Yvette (Robert), Jacques (Linda), Nicole (Luciano), Jocelyne, Beatrice (Richard), John (Lise) and predeceased by Cecile and Dann. She was a very special aunt to Alex Gravelle. She will be fondly remembered by her best friend Colleen Moore, her sister-in-law Florence Kirkham and her many nieces and nephews.

Our mother’s favourite place was the Pickerel River, where she grew up. She had a very special connection with animals. Rosemary was kind hearted, generous and witty, she always cared more about other people than herself. She never complained and always said “things could always be worse”. She was president, treasurer and member of the Nipissing Respiratory Organization and a member of the Woman’s Institute. Rosemary worked for many years at the Registrar's Office at Canadore College before retiring.

A special thank you to our aunts Florence and Marcia for caring for our mother when we couldn’t be there and to the neighbours, especially Peggy who was always there for our mother. Thank you to the Charbonneau family for welcoming mom into your family and loving her as we did. Many thanks to Dr. Melanie O’Grady, Dr. Scott Shulman, the amazing staff at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice and the North Bay Regional Health Centre. A very special thank you to our Uncle Marc who came from B.C. as we couldn't have made it through the last month without his love and support. To the Wickman family, thank you to those who continued to love/care about our mother.

Family will be receiving friends at Hillside Funeral Services, 362 Airport road, North Bay, on Thursday November 7th between 11:00 a.m until 12:00 p.m with the celebration of life to follow at 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice, North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation or to the Humane Society.
