Anne Florence Van Gorder of North Bay, Ont passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the age of 95 years. She leaves to cherish her memory 2 children, Dr. Eric Van Gorder (Joan) and Bonnie Joseph; her sister Bernice (Beba) Barham; 6 grandchildren, Dallas Stewart, Dylan Stewart (Andrea), Erika Tulk (Christopher), Jori Van Gorder (Kika), Sarah Joseph (Jeremy) and David Joseph (Alyssa) and 4 great grandchildren, Sydney & Lily Tulk, Olivia & Holden Stewart.
Anne was predeceased by her loving husband John William (Bill) Van Gorder and daughter Deborah Anne Van Gorder, her brothers; Leslie (Rip), Harold, Bert, Art and Frank Barham, and her parents David & Grace (Saunders) Barham.
Anne served with the Army in World War II and was a very active life member of the Royal Canadian Legion #23 for over 70 years. She was also past Regent of the IODE and past Worth Matron of the Fidelas Chapter OES. Anne volunteered for just about everything and for many years at the Heritage Railway on the waterfront in North Bay. She loved seeing the children and helping them on and off the train.

A Celebration of Life will be held later in the spring. Cremation has taken place and Anne’s ashes will be interred with her husband Bill and daughter Deborah at the Terrace Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund.
