It is with broken hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Maurice E. Turgeon on March 3, 2020 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, surrounded by his brother Bob and his close friends. Predeceased by his wife Antonietta ‘Tonie’ (nee Provenzano). Loving father of David Turgeon. Cherished brother of Bob Turgeon (Carolyn) and stepsister Judy Clement (Butch). Sadly, missed by his sister-in-law Joanne Kuehnen (Uli), nieces; Tracy (Mike), Kelly (John), Shelly, Natasha, Cassandra, nephew; George (Kelsey), Uncle Louis, Aunt Ida, Aunt Gloria, his extended family and many friends. Predeceased by his parents; Oliver ‘Bunny’ and Lucy (nee Murphy) and his in-laws; Giovanni ‘John’ and Maria Provenzano. Maurice was a barber for many years, he owned Maurice’s Hair Styling in Callander for many years and recently worked at Carmine’s Barber Shop. He was a Council member in Callander for 19 years and a proud member of the Callander Lions Club for 50 years. Maurice touched many people’s lives and always had a funny joke. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place at Whispering Pines Funeral Home’s Crematorium. A social gathering will be held at the Callander Legion on Saturday March 14, 2020 from 11 am – 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Callander Lions Club or a Charity of Choice would be gratefully appreciated by his family. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the Dr's and Staff at the NBRHC in the CCU and Emergency Department for the care and compassion given to Maurice and our family.
