Peacefully passed away at Providence Manor (Kingston, ON) on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at the age of 98 years.
Marguerite was the beloved wife of the late Douglas A. Smith, and loving mother to Arthur J. Smith (Crystal), Diane H. Fishback (Murray), Sandra I. Fuller, and Karen M. Smith (Ron). She was the cherished grandmother to Kori, Lauren, Phil, Marissa, Kyle, Tiffany, Nathan, Kristy, Amanda, Jason, Jamie, Aleisha, Taylor, Kiana, Taj, Celina, and Tamara, and great-grandmother to Logan, Harrison, Michelle, Cameron, Alice, Mackenzie, Carleigh, Emelia, Adilyn, Brianna, Jude, Sterling, Joshua, Dylan, Caidyn, Elliott, Eloise, Tristan, Russell, Sierra, Hunter, Phoebe, Gisele and Sofia. She is survived by her brother Laurent Marasse (Shirley) and is predeceased by her parents Aimé Marasse and Lydia “Marie” (nee Gravelle) Marasse and her siblings Jeanne, Julien, Aurel, Lucien, Irene, John and Helen.
The family will be receiving visitors at McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Friday, October 4, 2024, between the hours of 6 pm to 8 pm. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Église du Sacré-Cœur at Astorville Rd. Corbeil (Sacred Heart Church) on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 11:00 am with a reception luncheon to follow. Marguerite was dedicated to her large family and enjoyed family gatherings, gardening, quilting, the activities of the Catholic Women’s League and in earlier days, cards with family and dancing with her 3 sisters and her children at family gatherings.
