RENTON, Anne Lorraine (née Matte)

It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of Anne Renton on May 3, 2017 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre at the age of 94 years. Dearly loved wife of George Renton. Loving mother of Carole Anne, Christopher (Rhonda), Cynthia and Constance. Cherished grandmother of Julianne, Jill Marie and great grandmother of Grayson. She will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her parents; William and Lavina Matte and by her siblings; Norman, Raymond, Edward, William, Margaret, Rose, Eileen, Mae and Rita. Anne was a member and past president of St. Joseph’s Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, where she volunteered many years, managing the hospital tuck shop. In 1985, she was named a Life Member of the Hospital Auxiliaries Association of Ontario.  In 1994, she was enrolled in St. Joseph’s Hospital Quarter Century Club for “outstanding and dedicated service”. Anne was also a long-time member of the C.W.L. of the Pro Cathedral. Anne married George on August 31, 1949. Since that day, she has tended to her family and to her home with tireless devotion. We will forever remember her zest for life, her great faith, her courage and wisdom, and her boundless love for us. Family will be receiving visitors at the McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Tuesday May 9, 2017 from 2- 4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption on Wednesday May 10, 2017 at 10 am.
